Budget Friendly Contour Kits

Tuesday, March 29, 2016

Recently a lot of drugstore brands came out with full contour kits. I personally like contour kits because they are very convenient for me. In this post I will talk about my three favorite budget friendly contour kits. I only feature products that come with at least three shadows and they are all under 12$. Do you like contour kits and also what's your favorite?

Catrice released several contour kits recently. I've bought the blush artists shading palette in number 10 bronzÉclat. This palette actually only comes with two blushes and on highlighting powder. However it is supposed to contour your cheek bones. The texture of all powders is extremely soft and silky. They will apply smoothly without any fallout. All powders are long lasting and smudge proof. I love that the darkest blush has a matte finish and that this palette can still be used for contouring on casual days. The two other powders contain micro glitter, but it isn't overwhelming and not that noticeable.

1 is a light rosy peach color with silver micro glitter
2 is a peachy color with golden micro glitter
3 is a bronzy reddish color with a matte finish

The shape your face contouring palette from Essence is only available in one shade. It comes with a blush, one highlighting powder and one shading powder. The texture of these powders is very soft without any fallout. All shades are nicely pigmented and blendable. These powders are long lasting and won't fade a lot during the day. A big plus for me is that the shading powder has a matte finish and even the highlighter isn't overly shimmery. Only the blush contains some glitter, but it isn't that noticeable on my face.

2 is a light beige color with a pearly finish
3 is a cool toned brownish color with a matte finish

The contour kit from bhCosmetics is the most expensive one in this post. However it's still comparatively affordable. The forever nude sculpt and glow palette is available in two shades. I've got it in the shade light - medium. This contour palette comes with one blush, two shading powders and two highlighting powders. These powders are extremely silky and very blendable. I love that both bronzing powders are matte and cool toned,  but they have some fallout. The yellow highlighting powder is matte and the other one has a pearly finish. The blush looks very natural and it has a satin finish. I think that this color will match most skin tones. All colors are very pigmented and smudge proof.

  1. I bought Catrice bronzÉclat palette and I personell love the 3 shades very much. Much more than the Essence palette, because of its very warm and orangy bronzer shade. LG Blunia
